Heng Yi Xin has won the
2009 Prime Minister Book Award.
I'd so much like to say,
"Congratulations Yi Xin",
sincerely, really, and feel so happy for her,
because she is a good friend I
have known for 6 years..

However, I can't.
I can't bring myself to admire this
girl, this so wonderful girl.
I can't make myself happy
for her....
Because, I am jealous.

Why can she do it?
MY passion is writing.
Why, however, is she the person?
Why? Why can't I
also have my moment of glory?
Why can't I succeed in what I love so?
Why have I risen so high in
that world, and
now dropped so hard
with nothing to cushion me is it that my
mother can only admire other mothers
for having such brilliant children,
and just have to
sigh at ME, her daughter
who should have
given her dream?
She doesn't say it out,
but I know that she is thinking,
Why do I have this girl as
my child?
How is it that I am so cursed?

I've always wanted to
be a famous writer.
And why don't I ever have the chance?
Why is it that
what I write is never what they want?
Why is it that she can get the award,
yet I've never been
acknowledged for my English before?
